If you are a tenant, your main aim would be to know what rights do renters have. When you begin to live in a property, you need to agree on the terms and conditions set by the landowner. But, just because you are living on someone else’s property, it does not mean that you don’t have any right. As a tenant, you have the right to different things, such as privacy, safety, and more. This is not given by law, but it is your basic right, and you need to be aware of it. Everyone has the right to enjoy a quiet environment. However, one thing you need to know is that what bothers you might not bother someone else. As a result, you need to consult your property manager if there’s anything bothering you. Your property manager is required to take action against something that is bothering you.

  • Anti-discrimination

According to the law, you cannot be discriminated against based on race, color, religion, familial status, disability, or more. If you are leasing a property, you or your loved ones cannot be discriminated against on the basis of religion and more. If your property owner or neighbors does this, you can complain to the law about it.

  • Right to a habitable home

According to the laws, you have the basic right to live in a comfortable home. Therefore, according to the laws, you should have the complete freedom to live in a habitable house that does not put your safety or health at risk.

Your property manager is responsible for making the house in a liveable condition. Your landlord may not be responsible for fixing the things that your property manager is responsible for doing. However, if the fixtures aren’t in your agreement, the landlord will charge you more.
